Educator's Conference: Sharing Resources to Support ALL Readers

On Thursday, June 4, 2015, CPCS and P.S. 270 hosted a conference benefiting all educators looking to enhance their literacy practice while enhancing their ability to benefit from all resources within their building. More than 100 educators from around the city registered for this unique event. About Our Dissemination Grant

Starting in 2013 Community Partnership and P.S. 270 (with which the lower school is co-located) were awarded the Charter School Dissemination Grant for three years from the New York State Education department. The goal of this grant is to provide funding for schools with ideas about how to share best practices and instructional techniques between charter schools and district schools.

Leaders and teachers from Community Partnership are sharing assessment practices with leaders and teachers at P.S. 270 through professional development days, workshops, and regular meetings about using the STEP assessment. The STEP assessment is a tool used to offer "training and certification that defines the pathway and tracks the progress of pre-kindergarten through third grade students as they learn to read using research-based milestones."
